        Police: 17-year-old pedestrian hit by car in Copiague

        They say a 22-year-old driving on Sunrise Highway hit the teen in the left lane around 8 p.m. Saturday night.

        Police say a 17-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car in Copiague and is in critical condition.
        They say a 22-year-old driving on Sunrise Highway hit the teen in the left lane around 8 p.m. Saturday night.
        The driver was not hurt.
        The teen was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip.
        Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
