Sixteen winning names have been chosen in the state’s annual snowplow naming contest, including “Plowsaurus Rex,” “Snow‑Be‑Gone Kenobi” and “Blizzard and the Beast.”
The state Department of Transportation says thousands of people voted for the names. Officials say the contest adds fun to winter, but the work behind the plows remains serious.
“Behind these trucks, behind the plows, and behind the funny names, we have a large group of dedicated employees that are out there long hours, trying to make the roads safe,” said Paul Rizzo, chief of the Bureau of Highway Operations.
Other winning names include “Sled Zeppelin” and “Austin Plowers.”
