Two senior citizens were forced out of their home by a fire in Plainview, fire officials say.

The pair were able to safely evacuate their home on Central Park Road before firefighters arrived around 1 a.m. early Christmas Eve morning.

They were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Flames broke out in a bedroom of the home, according to fire officials.
