The Phillipsburg Town Council approved an ordinance Tuesday night banning data centers in the town.

Officials cited concerns about electricity and water use, along with the potential for increased taxes.

Mayor Randy Piazza Jr. addressed the issue in a Facebook post, writing, "we will continue working to protect the character of our town while planning smartly for the future."
