A Westport pet store has raised over $75,000 for a statewide food bank.
Earth Animal's 17th annual fundraiser supported Connecticut Food Share through its "Mitten Project," selling mittens during the holiday season. Susan Goldstein, an organizer, said, "It's a mission for us ... this is our time to really focus on humans and the needs of humans."
Jason Jakubowski, CEO of Connecticut Food Share, added, "For every dollar that we raise, we're able to turn it into two meals across the state of Connecticut."
Organizers say the effort, which aids thousands of families, feels deeply rewarding.
