There's a lot to love about Jefe. But despite his lovable personality and good manners, volunteers say no one has shown interest in adopting him.
Jefe currently calls Pitties and Pals Rescue in Jackson Township his home.
"This sweet boy was adopted as a young puppy, only to be dumped at the shelter four years later when his family’s 'dynamic changed.' Jefe signed up to be a loyal family member—and he was let down," the rescue explained in an Instagram post.
According to volunteers, "no one has shown an ounce of interest in him." But despite not having a "furever home," Jefe is a happy and loving 4-year-old shepherd mix. He recently completed training, so he knows several basic commands and is a gentle treat-taker. Volunteers at the rescue say he's the "king of fetch" and is happy to just play all by himself.
Jefe is already microchipped, neutered, crate-trained and housebroken. He's a great family dog, does well around kids and other dogs. He's ready for a good home and the rescue says time is of the essence.
"We’re running out of time—if we don’t find a foster or adopter ASAP, he’ll have to go into boarding, which would be a huge setback for this incredible boy."
