A 38-year-old Patchouge man, who is not being named to protect his victims, faces up to 89 years in prison following a jury trial rape conviction. Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney says the man was found guilty of sexually abusing his daughter between the ages of five and 12, and his younger half-sister when she was 15-years-old. Evidence at trial confirmed that he began abusing his daughter when she was starting kindergarten and continued for years while telling her not to tell anyone about the abuse because it would ruin their family. The second victim, his half-sister, reported her rape to police after being abused spending the night at his house. Tierney said that the half-sister turning to police gave the man's daughter courage to come forward about her own years-long abuse. The man is due back in court for sentencing on Jan. 7.
