WIND ALERT: Windy today, then wintry?
It’s windy and temperatures are dropping. We’re expecting cold weather for much of the month and a few of us could see snow early next week.

- It’s windy! Gusts will peak this afternoon at 40 mph. Worst wind is for north Jersey.
- A stray snow shower is possible this afternoon or tomorrow evening. No accumulation expected.
- The first winter storm of the year develops early next week. It looks like the air will be too dry for significant snow in our area, but we will watch the trend. Accumulation is very possible for Central or South Jersey.
It’s a windy Thursday across the garden state. A wind advisory is in effect for North Jersey until 11 p.m. Peak winds in this area will be up to 40 mph this afternoon. Although mainly sunny skies are expected, a few clouds could produce a brief snow shower this afternoon or Friday evening. No accumulations are expected.
The weekend is cold. Saturday is the colder day out of the two and it will be windy. Expect temperatures to feel like they are in the teens most of the day Saturday and 20s for Sunday.
The next storm arrives on Monday. It’s a significant storm, but right now the forecast track is well to our south. The best chance for accumulating snow in the garden state will be in South Jersey. We’re closely monitoring this, but for right now, no significant snow threats are in the forecast. It’s just very chilly!

TODAY: Sunshine mixed with clouds. A stray snowflake is possible. Windy. Highs in the low 40s, feels like low 30s.
TONIGHT: Clear and less windy. Lows in the mid and upper 20s.
FRIDAY: Sunshine and clouds. Breezy. A stray snowflake is possible in the evening. Highs near 40.
SATURDAY: Very cold and windy. A mix of sun and clouds with highs in the low 30s. Feels like teens most of the day.
SUNDAY: Cold with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the low to mid 30s.
