In 2022, residents in Concourse Village complained to News 12 that their longtime parking lot was being removed. Now, nearly three years later, News 12's cameras returned to the neighborhood to find out what the holdup was, as the lot continues to sit fenced off and empty.
Residents at 775 Concourse Village East say parking has gotten so bad that some of them have given up their cars altogether.
At last check, a partial vacate order was still active on the property plus dozens of violations.
However, residents say there’s been no communication about when the lot would reopen.
People say they have to fight for street parking or pay at a garage next door.
News 12 spoke to the management office for the building, and they still don’t have an update on when the lot will fully reopen.
The Department of Buildings (DOB) said there are permits on file for repairs to the lot, but that the building owner did receive a violation for not submitting an ordered report to the DOB about the conditions of the structure.
