Finding parking in Parkchester is becoming more difficult for residents, especially in the condominium lots. Many say it’s a constant challenge.
One resident describes the situation as “parking roulette,” where finding a spot is often a gamble. Others say they often have to wait for someone to leave a spot, and it could take hours during busy hours.
Parking permits cost over $200 annually, but available spots remain scarce. This causes people to resort to parking in a nearby parking garage, which charges $270 a month. But the garage is set to close, as new residential housing will replace it.
“We have a lot of seniors living here. So it’s going to be very hard for them to get around without the garage,” said Allen Petroni, a Parkchester condominium resident. The Parkchester Watch Group says it has contacted management but received no response.
News 12 has also contacted management and received no response.
