Panera Bread has settled a lawsuit with the family of a Jersey City college student who died after drinking a highly caffeinated lemonade offered at the restaurant.
The lawsuit claimed that the “Charged Lemonade” was offered with Panera’s other drinks, regardless of the caffeine levels.
Katz’s parents say there is no doubt in their mind that the drink triggered her cardiac arrest. Panera has since stopped serving the drink.
Details of the settlement were not released.
