An out‑of‑control car in White Plains went airborne and slammed into scaffolding near Buffalo Wild Wings on Tuesday afternoon.
Video sent to News 12 shows the SUV narrowly missing pedestrians on a walkway before flying through oncoming traffic on Mamaroneck Avenue.
Police said the crash happened around 4 p.m. at Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue. They said the Acura MDX was heading east on Main Street when it veered right, struck an island and crossed into the northbound lanes.
The SUV then hit the scaffolding. The driver, an 80‑year‑old man, was the only person in the vehicle and is in stable condition at a nearby hospital.
Police are reviewing possible driver or mechanical error. No other injuries were reported.
The Buffalo Wild Wings is open for business.
