A program in Edison is helping small businesses through help from Optimum Business.
Optimum is teaming with the Edison Chamber of Commerce to provide $5,000 grants to 20 businesses in town. The money will help owners like Reeta Aggarwal who owns Minuteman Press – a company she opened three years ago.
Aggarwal says she will use the money for marketing and to expand operations.
“With the funding, I can add more services within the shop that I couldn't do before. It can help with pricing, as well. So, I can source better pricing with that, at the end of the day my customers will get better pricing,” Aggarwal says.
"This money from Optimum is certainly a great help. It is a leg up for a Monday morning when you had a tired weekend of serving customers and this extra money is vital to continue business,” says Joe Coyle, of the Edison Chamber of Commerce.
Recipients say that when companies like Optimum help small businesses, everyone from the community benefits.
"We are focusing on what's most important to the communities that we serve and Optimum will be there for them,” says Mike D’Alessandro, Optimum market business director.
A small business can apply if they have a brick-and-mortar location in Edison and employs 10 or fewer full-time employees. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 6. More information can be found HERE.
Optimum is the sister company of News 12.
