        Attorney general: On-duty Franklin Borough police sergeant involved in crash that killed 19-year-old

        Officials say Franklin police Sgt. William Grissom was involved in the Route 23 crash that killed 19-year-old Deanna D'Arco.

        The New Jersey attorney general’s office confirmed an on-duty police sergeant in a marked cruiser was involved in the crash that killed a 19-year-old woman in Franklin Borough.
        Officials say Franklin police Sgt. William Grissom was in the Route 23 crash that killed Deanna D'Arco. The crash happened on May 27 at around 10:30 a.m.
        D'Arco, of Sussex, was a passenger in a car. Witnesses say it happened minutes after the town's parade ended. The car the 19-year-old was in was t-boned by the cruiser. The driver was treated and released.
        The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
