        Officials say halt to congestion pricing plan paused accessibility projects in Brooklyn

        Gov. Kathy Hochul's recent pause on congestion pricing is affecting the accessibility of transit in Brooklyn, officials say.
        State Sen. Andrew Gounardes posted on X saying accessibility improvement projects, namely the installation of elevators, have been halted indefinitely due to Metropolitan Transportation Authority funding shortages.
        An elevator installation at 18th Avenue that would serve Brooklyn residents at the Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, and Bath Beach subway stops has been indefinitely paused, as well as elevators planned for the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station.
