Right now on Mornings on News 12, the record dry conditions sparking two new wildfires, adding to the hundreds, crews have already fought. We're live with the very latest and a startling break-in caught on camera, but it isn't the first for the neighborhood. We're live in Mercer County where police want your help. And we're desperately seeking rain around these parts. It's been months since significant rain has fallen. Guess what's on the map? You've got that right. We've got orange and red. That's indicative of heavy rain. We're gonna time out when coming up next. Good morning. It's Tuesday, November 19th. I'm Simon Choudhry, and I'm Darryl Brown in for Nick Meanni. Well, the big story this morning crews racing to contain two new wildfires. One is burning near Lakewood Country Club in Ocean County. The other in Hainesport, Burlington County. Now both of these fires are burning in the middle of neighborhoods, though no homes are threatened by this fire. The flames though definitely too close for comfort. News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo is live in the area of the Lakewood Country Club fire where now he's being joined by a member of the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, Tony. Yeah, Dale Carey is joining us this morning. He was kind enough to stop by. They've been very busy, to say the least. Dale, we appreciate the time. Give us an update on the size and the containment right now right now, the fire is presently 35 acres in size, and it's 50% contained, 50% contained. So improvement from the last check was 20%, right? Yes, yes, it was, yeah, the guys. Great work overnight. Lines all held and they'll continue the work around the perimeter today, mopping up and trying to get this thing to bed by, you know, by later today hopefully we'll be at 100%. How much does the lack of wind help you in dealing with this? A lack of wind helps. The high road to humidity helps, you know, the guys are able to kind of concentrate and get a lot of good work done. And stay committed to the fire without a doubt. What's the morale as we show the folks at home a little bit of video of the fire from our drone and what have you, but what's the morale right now? I mean, you guys have been so busy for so long now, and we might get a little bit of rain, but what's the feeling among all of you right now? No, it's been a long stretch without a doubt, you know, it's been a long running and gunning with fires. It's been, you know, definitely long dealing with the fire. I had two weeks ago on the other side of Jackson, the shotgun fire and that. Used to burn inside with smoke problems dealing with that also dealing with other new fires that we have every day, you know, responding, putting them fires out, and of course dealing with this one yesterday, you know, this fire, you know it's definitely been long and the guys have been great though. They work hard. They know what it's like, and you know they definitely could use a break just like I could too. We all could. Sure. What's your biggest concern right now with the smoke, with the fire itself? What are you most worried about? Yeah, the biggest concern is the smoke naturally. It was bad last night because it settled down. So the biggest fear is, you know, to get the lines good and, and, and obviously, you know, worry about new fires today. Make sure the guys are ready this afternoon if something new pops up that we can jump on it and you know do what we've been doing for the last several months now. Yeah, we appreciate the time to let you get back to work. Thank you so much. Thank you for the update.
