A 60-year-old man was fatally struck by a car Saturday morning at the intersection of Eastchester and Givan roads in the Bronx, according to officials.
Authorities say a BMW sedan hit the man as he exited his parked vehicle just after midnight. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses told News 12 that a tow truck ran a red light through Givan Avenue, hitting the white BMW causing it to spin out. The white BMW then hit multiple parked vehicles along Eastchester Road, along with the 60-year-old man. Friends of the victim identified the man as Dwight Downer.
Police say the 24-year-old male driver remained at the scene. Officials say he was taken to a hospital for evaluation but was not visibly injured.
        No arrests have been made.
