37m agoAll mandatory evacuations in Ocean Township in Lacey Township have been lifted effective immediately, allowing residents to return home, police said.
The order includes Brookville, Greenbriar, Laurelwyke, Birchwood, Cornerstone, Dogtown, and all residences west of the Garden State Parkway to Route 9.
Power outages persist with no estimated restoration time as crews survey infrastructure damage.
Evacuation shelters at Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin and Manchester Township High School in Manchester closed after the evacuation orders were lifted. Red Cross officials say they helped to assist about 3000 evacuees in all.
