A Queens man is facing charges in the hit-and-run that killed a 59-year-old Bushwick man Friday morning at the intersection of Deklab and Wyckoff avenues.
Police charged 42-year-old Escalona Luna Lennis with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to use due care.
Authorities say he ran over Marco Gallardo Tirado in the crosswalk, trapping the victim underneath the vehicle and fleeing from the scene in a white box truck.
Gallardo Tirado later died at an area hospital.
Residents say the street can often be packed with limited sightlines for drivers and pedestrians.
"We always have the cars and the double park and lots of trucks, but this is the first time this has happened here," said area resident Erica Limas.
