The NYPD is enhancing security after the attack at a UK synagogue on Thursday during the first day of Yom Kippur.
There is no known nexus to NYC at this time, according to police, but enhanced coverage and high visibility patrols are already on place due to the holiday.
Manchester police say they were called to the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue shortly after 9 a.m. by someone who said he witnessed a car being driven toward members of the public. One man was also stabbed.
The suspect was fatally shot by police. Two other people were killed and three were injured.
