Traffic violence in Brooklyn continues to raise concerns as another cyclist is fighting for his life after colliding with a school bus.
Police say a 69-year-old man was riding his bike when he collided with an open car door. He fell, and then moments later, a school bus came by and ran him over. The cyclist is in critical condition. The incident took place in front of P.S. 128 on 84th Street.
Community members told News 12 this incident is just another indication that traffic safety needs to be prioritized.
According to city data, this has been the deadliest first quarter in terms of traffic violence. Brooklyn has experienced its deadliest first three months in the past decade. There have been 21 reported injuries and 4,044 deaths since March.
