NYPD: 78-year-old woman fatally struck at Bronx intersection

The 56-year-old driver remained at the scene. Police say no arrests have been made.

A crash late Saturday night at an intersection in The Bronx left a 78-year-old woman dead, according to police.
Authorities say the woman was walking in the roadway at White Plains Road and East 216th Street when a silver Toyota struck her.
The victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The 56-year-old driver remained at the scene. Police say no arrests have been made.
