Traffic deaths are on a steady decline as New York City enters the third quarter of 2025, according to Vision Zero.
The city has seen 159 deaths throughout the year, an 18% decline from the 194 deaths recorded during the initial nine months of 2024.
Officials say these statistics account for accidents involving pedestrians, cars, e-bikes, scooters and motorcycles.
The DOT says traffic projects including the recently redesigned Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn are contributing to this improvement.
