        Following Donald Trump’s win in the 2024 presidential election, New York City leaders and advocacy groups are voicing concerns about potential impacts on immigration.
        Murad Awawdeh, president and CEO of the New York Immigrant Coalition, says immigrants across the state are feeling stressed, as cracking down on immigration was a key focus of Trump’s campaign.
        New York City Mayor Eric Adams reaffirmed the city’s commitment to its sanctuary status, promising to support immigrants pursuing the American Dream.
        Meanwhile, the mayor’s office says it will work with federal officials to find solutions for the city’s ongoing migrant crisis.
