The Bronx Museum opened its doors to the public for a new exhibit called "Futura 2000: Breaking Out."
Leonard Hilton McGurr, also known as Futura 2000, is a five-decade career artist who grew up in the city.
Elieen Jeng Lynch, director of curatorial program at the Bronx Museum, says the exhibit showcases his early graffiti work through the present time.
She says his art bridges the worlds of fine art, music and fashion - while only using spray paint.
The exhibit features a wide variety of canvases from shoes, clothes and refrigerator doors - along with more traditional large canvases, sculptures and collectable pieces.
The exhibit is open until March 30, and is free to the public.
