NYC beaches open for summer season; lifeguards on duty daily
Summer is just around the corner, and New Yorkers now have a place to cool off as beaches across the city officially open for the season. Lifeguards will be on duty daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to NYC Parks. Officials remind beachgoers that swimming is only allowed when lifeguards are present. Entering the water is prohibited when lifeguards are off duty or in areas marked closed by signs or red flags. The city's beaches will remain open through Sept. 13. Meanwhile, New York City's outdoor public pools are set to open later this summer, with the season beginning on June 27.
