Norwalk Public Schools celebrated Walk, Bike & Roll to School at Fox Run Elementary School this morning.
The purpose is to help kids find a healthy and sustainable way to school without depending on cars and driving.
The schools have held the event for the last couple of years but this is the first year the city's Bike Walk Commission is involved.
"I'd love to see more kids feeling safer riding to school, walking to school," said Emily Burnaman, chair of Norwalk Bike Walk Commission. "And able to get themselves to school, in a, in a safe"
Officials handed out Safe Routes to School educational materials and other fun treats outside the school.
Walk, Bike & Roll to School was celebrated earlier this month at Rowayton Elementary School and Cranbury Elementary School.
Also partnering in the event was Nuvance Health, the Norwalk Health department and the Norwalk public schools.
