Norwalk man charged after 2 people stabbed during early-morning fight
Two people were stabbed during an early-morning fight in Norwalk, and police say a suspect is now facing multiple charges.
Police were called to the area of Ely Avenue and Lowe Street around 6:14 a.m. Sunday following reports of a fight involving about 10 to 15 people.
When officers arrived, they did not find an active disturbance and began interviewing witnesses.
During the investigation, police arrested 35-year-old Friedston D. Bowen Jr. of Norwalk on charges of second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer.
About an hour later, officers were called to Norwalk Hospital after learning that two people had arrived there with knife wounds.
Police say one victim suffered a cut to the face, while a second victim suffered a laceration to the chest.
Detectives later determined the victims had been stabbed during the earlier fight on Ely Avenue.
Investigators allege Bowen was responsible for the stabbings and charged him with two counts of second-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Bowen was held on $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 1.
The investigation remains ongoing.
