A South Shore Nassau County restaurant had to shut down after this weekend's nor'easter flooded the building less than two months after officially opening.

Pictures and videos from outside Betty's Burgers and Ice Cream Bar at 1960 Bayberry Ave. in Merrick show a significant amount of water being pumped out from inside the restaurant and flooding the surrounding property over the weekend.

The restaurant's owner said on social media that the building suffered significant damage and that they are assessing the next steps.

"We would like to thank the Merrick community and everyone who has welcomed us and embraced us with love and support," the restaurant wrote on their website announcing their closure. "We thank you for an amazing summer and we will see you soon."

The burger spot on East Bay opened in early August.

The restaurant will remain closed until further notice.
