New Jersey is full of highways, and some are a smoother drive than others. News 12 ran a poll in August asking followers their least favorite roads to drive in New Jersey.
Coming in at No. 5 - Interstate 80.
Repeated sinkholes along I-80 in Wharton caused 6 months of traffic headache earlier this year. The highway has other challenges, too. There's a whole Facebook group with 111,000 members dedicated solely to the horrors of driving this road. It's called the "Route 80 Rant."
Drivers interviewed by News 12 mentioned consistent traffic and truck volume among their frustrations with driving I-80. The highway runs from New Jersey all the way to California.
There's only one financial toll on I-80 in New Jersey, when taking the Delaware Water Gap Toll Bridge into Pennsylvania. But drivers are faced with a different kind of toll when riding I-80 - a mental toll - which is why it came in at number 5 on the voted list of New Jersey's least favorite roadways.
