Commuters are being urged to plan extra travel time today as storm damage continues to disrupt NJ Transit service across parts of North Jersey.
The Morris & Essex Line is operating with limited service in and out of New York Penn Station, while the Gladstone Branch remains suspended as crews work to clean up and repair damage caused by this weekend’s storms.
The disruptions are affecting commuters traveling through Summit and communities along both rail lines.
NJ Transit said tickets and passes for the Morris & Essex Line and Gladstone Branch will be cross-honored on the Raritan Valley and Montclair-Boonton lines.
Riders are being encouraged to check travel alerts before heading out and prepare for delays whether traveling by train, car or on foot.

In Summit, a section of Broad Street remains closed because of a low-hanging power line.
Officials are reminding residents to stay away from downed or low-hanging wires and report them to utility companies because they could still be energized.
According to FirstEnergy, nearly 15% of Summit customers were without power Monday morning, affecting about 1,300 customers.
Power is not expected to be fully restored in the city until July 9 at 11:30 p.m.
PSE&G NJ reports more than 1,000 active outages as of this morning. Over 16,000 customers are affected.
