Confirmation letters for the New Jersey ANCHOR relief program are expected to arrive in mailboxes this month.
According to the New Jersey Department of Treasury, "most eligible filers will have their 2025 ANCHOR applications, form ANC-1, auto-filed and will receive an ANCHOR Benefit Confirmation Letter in August 2026."
New Jersey residents who own or rent property and meet the financial requirements should expect to receive the confirmation letters. Eligible residents whose ANCHOR applications are not automatically filed can go online and file the property tax relief application electronically. Applications can also be downloaded and submitted by mail, once they become available.
The Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program began in 2022 and expanded on the state’s former Homestead Benefit program. This year's ANCHOR benefit is based on residency, income, and age from 2025, the Department of Treasury said.
For those whose applications aren't automatically filed, the deadline to apply for the 2025 benefit is Nov. 2.
