A boil water advisory in Somerset County has been lifted following a major water main break on Route 206 earlier this week.
The advisory impacted residents of Bridgwater, Raritan and Somerville.
The water main break happened Wednesday morning.
It shut down parts of the highway and closed schools in all three towns.
New Jersey American Water said Friday evening that water quality testing results showed that the water was safe to consume.
