The U.S. Justice Department has recently released documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and News 12 is looking at Rockland county connections within those files.
Among them is a July 2015 letter from Bais Yaakov of Ramapo, a private religious girls school located along Route 202 in Suffern. The letter informs “Mr. and Mrs. Beller” that their daughter’s tuition for the school year is $22,600.
Documents show that a few weeks later, in August of that year, a check from Jeffrey Epstein for that exact amount was sent to the school. Records also indicate the school received another check from Epstein the previous year for $18,120.
The files do not indicate why Epstein made the payments.
While the initial tuition letter does not say the Bellers’ first names, the name “Harry Beller” appears multiple times throughout the Epstein document search. The files list Harry Beller having a Monsey address, which News 12 also confirmed through a Rockland County deed search.
According to a
November 2025 report from the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, a "Harry Beller" is identified as Epstein’s accountant and described as “an integral part of Epstein’s financial operation,” adding that his potential links to sex trafficking crimes merit further investigation.
It remains unclear whether the Harry Beller referenced in the Senate report is the same individual connected to the tuition letter. If they are the same person, questions remain about why Epstein paid the tuition.
Epstein was known to make financial donations to educational institutions around the world and reportedly covered expenses for staff or his friends’ children. He died by suicide in his jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
News 12 is waiting to hear back from Bais Yaakov of Ramapo for comment and attempted to contact Harry Beller.
