Families of fallen service members now have a new way to be honored on New York roads.

The DMV has unveiled a Gold Star Family license plate.

The plate honors parents, siblings and relatives of fallen service members. It joins the state's existing Gold Star Mother's license plate.

DMV officials say eligible families can order the plate now through the DMV website. Officials said the plates will inspire people to remember what should be done in their memory each day.
