The New York LGBT Network held a car meetup event in Hauppauge Sunday to raise money for their anti-bullying initiative.
It was the first Rainbow Rides Car Meetup held by the group.
The event featured a variety of vehicles including muscle cars and vintage models.
The organization says their mission is to combat hate and bullying in schools.
"Nine out of 10 LGBT kids hear anti-LGBTQ remarks every single day at school – 30% to 40% of LGBT kids are harassed whether it's physically or verbally in school every single day,” said CEO Robert Vitelli. “So, what we're trying to do is continue to increase awareness and help kids understand what that experience is for other kids.”
