Monday's early morning fire on Miller Avenue burned one home to the ground and badly damaged two others. The city's Department of Buildings has now issued vacate orders for all three homes and a demolish order for the house where the fire started.
The moment the fire erupted is captured by a neighbor's Ring camera in video obtained by News 12. You can see the home quickly engulfed in flames as emergency personnel are quick to respond.
Neighbors say they begged the city to do something about the property, claiming that it was clearly abandoned. They filed multiple 311 complaints. The Department of Buildings says they inspected the property twice in September, finding the home boarded up properly and didn't pose an immediate danger to the public.
The property owner declined to comment, on the advice of his attorney.
The FDNY is still investigating the cause of the fire.
