Yorktown officially has a new town supervisor, as Ed Lachterman was inaugurated into the position at Town Hall Friday.
He was elected to the position last month, and will finish out the term of Tom Diana, who died in January, just days after being sworn in.
Lachterman shared some words he will follow in this new role.
"You do the best of your ability, you do what you think is right, you follow a moral compass, you listen to the constituents, and everyone in Yorktown is a constituent," Lachterman said. "I tell you from my heart, every decision I make is what I feel is best for the town and best for the people who live here."
A local rabbi and state Assemblyman Matt Slater also spoke at Lachterman's inauguration Friday.
