The BabyD Agency and Career Academy marked a milestone this past weekend with a ribbon cutting for a new office in Westport.

The agency trains newborn care specialists on the ins and outs of caring for babies.

Founder and owner Donnette Brotherson says her work is inspired by what she has seen women experience after childbirth.

She says seeing what postpartum can do to women led her to start this work. She says she began several years ago and found it to be her calling.

The new office is located at 38 Franklin Street in Westport.

The location opens at 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sundays.
