New photos show the damage left behind after a two-car crash on the Merritt Parkway in Westport.

The crash happened Tuesday on the northbound side just before Exit 21, according to the Westport Fire Department.

The collision shut down the northbound side of the parkway for a short time while crews cleared the scene.

Photos from the scene show significant damage to the vehicles involved.

Authorities have not released information about possible injuries.
