In the wake of a deadly small plane crash in the Hudson Valley, Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-88) is proposing new legislation to enhance safety measures for small plane owners and operators.
The proposed bills aim to increase security and safety standards for small planes in New York. One bill would require small plane owners to register with the state transportation department and provide proof of third-party insurance.
A second bill would authorize the state to study flight operations and update safety guidelines to prevent similar incidents in the future.
