        There is some bad news for first-time home buyers looking to settle down in New Jersey. The Garden State has 21 towns where the typical starter homes are worth $1 million or more.
        The towns include Alpine, Deal, Loch Arbour and Short Hills. The typical value of a starter home in Deal is $1.9 million.
        The number of towns in New Jersey with million-dollar starter homes has increased dramatically from two in 2019 to 21 in 2024.
