A New Jersey company is offering a new option for parents packing school lunches as students head back to class.
Sippy Kids is a boxed water product designed for children. The drink contains only water and comes in a paper-based carton with a straw.
Founder Amanda Kutner said the idea came after she, her sister and a friend attended a birthday party and noticed there were few drink options for children beyond sugary juices and plastic bottles.
Kutner said the goal was to create a water product that is easy for children to hold and drink on their own.
The cartons are designed to fit easily into lunchboxes and are available in blue and white packaging. Kutner said both versions contain the same product, with only the packaging color differing.
