High temperatures on Tuesday meant finding easy ways to cool off – and there is no easier way than going out for some ice cream.
Ice cream shops around New Jersey are seeing more business with the warmer weather.
News 12 visited “What’s the Scoop” in Metuchen, where the owner says more customers have been rolling in over the past week to try one or several of the shop’s 72 flavors.
"They've definitely been coming for some of our most popular items, like mint chocolate chip and black raspberry chip, but also the newest flavors that we have,” says owner Mike Schutz. “This month, we have a lemon blueberry shortbread ice cream."
Schutz says that Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest. He says that after they try some flavors, customers can cool off inside or catch a breeze outside.
Temperatures across New Jersey are expected to remain in the 80s and 90s for the rest of the week.
