Elected New Jersey congressional Democrats took their victory lap in Newark on Wednesday and laid out their agenda for the next two years.
Surrounded by their union supporters, they called for the end of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, higher minimum wages and investigations into the Trump administration.
"We will hold every single person who attacked our immigrant brothers and sisters. We will find you. We will hold you accountable," said Rep. Rob Menendez.
From abolishing ICE to Medicaid for all, and a focus on working, struggling families, New Jersey Democrats say this election was a mandate for change.
"I think the reason the American people reacted is not that they are fickle. It is that they did not see a result. They have eyes and they have ears," said Rep. Analilia Mejia.
New faces, including the first-ever Muslim American from New Jersey, now head to the nation's capital.
"We want good jobs. We want our children to grow up and have a great education, and so yesterday was a victory for all of us," said Rep.-elect Adam Hamawy.
The elected Democrats say investigations are not out of the question, everything from Delaney Hall to family wealth gains and, yes, even talks of impeachment.
"Yeah, it can possibly involve impeachment. However, we are a little premature on that. We have work to get done. I think the Judiciary Committee, as well as Oversight, they have a lot of work to do," said Rep. LaMonica McIver.
That mandate also means working to get bills passed under a Republican president.
"We can work on healthcare. It's broken for everyone. I don't care who you are - Republican or Democrat - healthcare is an issue. It's the rising costs that families must deal with and it's the part of the affordability crisis," said Hamawy.
