New fast-charging stations for electric cars will soon be coming to the Bronx and Brooklyn.
According to the Department of Transportation, two new electric vehicle charging station will open - one in each borough.
Brooklyn will welcome a new charging station at the Bensonhurst Municipal Field on 86th Street in January.
The Bronx's new charging station will be located at the White Plains Road Municipal Field and will open this coming November.
The DOT and Taxi and Limousine Commission worked together to choose these two locations since they are areas with plenty of cab drivers.
The DOT says chargers at the station will fill cars to almost full capacity in as quickly as 20 minutes, depending on the car.
