A new center to help and support children and families has officially opened in Williamsbridge.

A ribbon-cutting was held Monday for the Uptown Family Enrichment Center located at 3535 Holland Ave. During the event, people explored the center, learned about its resources and upcoming programs, met staff and connected with fellow residents.

The community space is operated by BronxWorks and will offer free family-friendly activities such as parent mixes, family game nights, women empowerment groups and seasonal festivities.

The center is funded by the New York City Administration for Children's Services.
