State Sen. Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox, who represents Trumbull, Bridgeport and Monroe, told News 12 Connecticut Monday that a new state law provides state residents with "powerful new protections" against domestic violence.
"Public Act 25-70 expands confidentially protections, regarding the location and address of any given domestic violence shelter, from being released at public meetings, or through recorded minutes of those meetings," Gadkar-Wilcox said.
Iris Seda, 55, of Bridgeport is a domestic violence survivor and welcomes the new law.
"It affords survivors like me an extremely powerful new way of protecting us from the abusers who've made our lives a living hell," she said.
