2h agoConstruction for affordable housing is expected to begin this summer in Central Islip, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.
The $15 million project will bring 96 units and commercial space to Carleton Avenue.
Another $9 million project will create a 53-unit housing development on Main Street in Port Jefferson.
Officials say a lottery will determine who gets to move in.
Construction for both developments is expected to end in spring 2027.
