As kids head back to school, they will also be returning to safer streets.

The Department of Transportation has installed 15 mph slow zones at more than 200 schools.

Officials say the zones will be located at nearly 800 schools by the end of 2026.

Open Street gates are also being installed near schools across the city to help slow down traffic for pedestrians and make it safer for kids coming and going from school.
